Forgotten
All alone
Doesn’t anyone
Remember
The past?
Forlorn
No more ships
No more need
Of lighthouse
Standing all alone
Waiting for one
Just one
Who needs to be taken
Taken
care
of
Forgotten
All alone
Doesn’t anyone
Remember
The past?
Forlorn
No more ships
No more need
Of lighthouse
Standing all alone
Waiting for one
Just one
Who needs to be taken
Taken
care
of
Peace and joy
To use what
We have
To give thanks
For what we have
To enjoy
What we have
Money cannot buy
Peace and joy
Gratitude Can
How can we
Instill
In the souls of people
That extreme wealth
Can be as dangerous
As extreme poverty
They can both
Lead to extreme starvation
Who has more
And more of
What
Do you want
More of what
You don’t have
or
Do you want
Less of what
You have
What is more
What is less
And what is it
That we still
Lack
Really
Come to life Beirut
Sparkling Bright
Bubbling Sparks
All over the night
That’s it Beirut
Sparkle away
It’s time now
For you to
Shine once more
Take my hand Beirut
And I’ll take yours
Let’s dance in the Spring air
Breathe in Life once again
Beirut Dance
In the streets of Glory
Once Again
I have a dream
that somehow
seems just right
for me
I have no intention
of letting go of
my dream
for if I do
I lose me
I lose hope
I lose my way
I try to light
the way for others, to never
let go of their dream
and if I find a sad heart ready to let go
I try to show the great importance
To “Hold Fast”
for without a dream, we are lost in time
I think we might have a wrong idea about what a treasure is.
Let us take Garnets, beautiful in a ring or bracelet or necklace or ear rings;
but let us compare Treasures.
Open a pomegranate
Slice open
What do you see
Clusters of juicy, glistening garnets
that melt in your mouth before they reach.
Looking behind paper thin walls for so much splendour
Yes, I would say
We might have the wrong idea about what a treasure is.
My teachers , birds
one stormy morning
I saw this lonely bird
flying to find
a shelter from the cold winds and rain and hail
and i felt a bit ashamed of myself
remembering how many times i complain about this or that
birds do not ask for help
but are self sufficient
they do not complain when life is hard
they persist
finding any way they can to survive
and through it all
they sing
and sing
I will try to learn from my great teachers, birds
I want to be
bubbly light and happy
I want to truly taste
the Beauty of Life
I want to feel
more happiness
then ever
before
in all aspects of life
I want to know
Beyond all Doubt
that whatever
I think
Whatever I want
I can Be
and
Have
The words one day at a time have taken on a different meaning for me. From the time as a child I used to sing that song, now with Covid-19
after months of lockdown total or partial I have come to appreciate what those words mean. Since March 2020, Time has donned rocket boosters and I do not know where almost one year went.
Sometimes I am aware of morning and then I turn around and it is sunset.
So I have rediscovered my childhood habit: Living in the moment.
Will I succeed in hanging on to Time regardless of rocket boosters?
